At the two-thirds-of-the-month mark we note: it may clearly be warmer than las year but the amount of wind we are getting is clearly below last years average. In 2015 there was not a single day with wind under force 4. This year it is barely at 60% for the moment.
Even with respect to the long term chronicles it is 8% below the average. Since the beginnings of our recordings on the 1.1.87 a total of 920 days of January have compounded. Now we are curious as to whether we will at least catch up to the median. For a couple of days the computer model calculates another lull period fromthe weekend onwards. Sure it is supposed to be gone by the end of the month but we prefer not to look that far into the future. We will just keep our heads down and make the most of the large sails and kites and see what happens after that. It is at least a relief that no air currents are being predicted from the west. So at least we won’t have to live with rainfall 🙂
