This month has just been amazing! With the Monday midnight calculations there was a total of seven results which completely excluded the letter “W” for west winds. That means sixteen datas for each serie. In the long term forecast it looks like the high pressure area over the Azores will stay for at least two further weeks.
At the moment, the centre is put under a pressure of 1.036 hPc (the oldschool crew still knows this as millibars;). The computers calculate more than 1.040 for Wednesday – just like in a summer fairy-tale! We’re happy for those who have the chance to spontaneously escape to Tenerife. This doesn’t happen often in March.
This information is easy to follow on our site http://www.surfcenter.el-medano.com/Wind/Monate/03_Mar.htm where we have been documenting (without fakes!) the values since 1987 to upload them. A pity that the small-screen-surfers won’t have that much fun with it. Who would have thought that the IT culture would change that much!?
