The surf centre in El Médano, founded in 1980 by Surf Tours International and developed into a surf centre in 1982, is located on the grounds of the HOTEL PLAYA SURF TENERIFE. Since the takeover by Klaus Gahmig, who opened his first windsurfing school in the Bay of Lübeck in 1974, the school has steadily grown in popularity. Run as a family business and open all year round, the surf centre offers daily Lessons and hire. Open from 9.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. in summer and from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in winter, all guests get their money’s worth. The catering service in the nearby FLASH POINT bar or in the HITO restaurant of the HOTEL PLAYA SURf takes care of our guests’ culinary needs. Multilingual support is always available for all guests, and the school can be contacted around the clock by email or whatsapp. In June 2024, the surf school celebrated its 50th anniversary.
