El Médano Wind Forecast
¿Ya verano?
Según el calendario, aún no es la hora. Pero con respecto al viento, nos está sitúa como si estuviéramos en mitad del verano. Más o menos cerca de los Azores se nos cruza el centro de una zona de alta presión lo suficientemente fuerte como para alimentarnos con viento desde el noroeste que tanto nos gusta y hace que la diversión se duplique en nuestra esquinita de la isla. Y todo esto antes de que sea realmente verano.
Si uno se fía de las previsiones a largo plazo, la situación actual no tiene pinta de cambiar. Luego, parece que se acerca un pequeño descanso, pero este ya lleva desplazándose desde Mayo e incluso era prevista para hoy, que afortunadamente no se cumplió.
Cada cálculo ha supuesto desde entonces un pequeño toque de optimismo en su algoritmo, haciendo que ese hueco se vaya desplazando cada vez más en el futuro. ¡Así es cómo nos gusta!
La tendencia tan positiva se mantiene si miramos hasta el final de las posibilidades (a las 284 horas) y podemos darle la bienvenida a aquellos que han decidido visitarnos antes de la gran avalancha del verano. Resultado son que todas nuestras taquillas dedicadas al material de Kite-surf estén todas reservadas y seguramente haya algún que otro cuello de botella con las tablas de wind más usadas.
Already summer?
According to the calender, it hasn’t arrived yet. But the wind conditions could perfetly be from mid-summer. There’s a High pressure area which’s center is somewhere around the Azores just strong enough to make us happy with wind from the norhwest which we enjoy so much, making our small corner of the island double fun. And all this even before Summer.
If one can trust the long term-forecast, the situation won’t change during next week. Then however, there’s supposed to be a little break, but last month this was already predicted for today and fortunately it didn’t comply.
Every further calculation did include since then a little bit of optimism in the algorithm and placed this break more and more in the future. That’s how we like it!
Also now, if we take a glance into de furthest predictable day (in 284 hours) which keeps the positive tendency, we can only give a big welcoming to those who have decided to visit us before the big summer boom. Result of this, is the complete reservation of our kite storages. And surely by the end of the month there will be one or another bottleneck with the most used windsurf boards.
Schon Sommer?
Kalendarisch ist es noch nicht so weit. Aber “windtechnisch” läuft es bei uns schon so wie zu sprichwörtlich traumhaften Sommerzeiten. Da steht ein genügend kräftiges HOCH mit seinem Zentrum mehr oder weniger nahe bei den Azoren. Es bringt uns den geliebten Wind von Nordost, der sich an unserer Ecke der Insel mit Spaßfaktor um die 2 verstärkt. So hat sich das bereits jetzt eingependelt.
Wenn man den Langzeit-Rechnungen Glauben schenken darf, wird sich an dieser Situation in der nächsten Woche nichts ändern. Es soll dann zwar für ein paar Tage eine kleine Lücke entstehen, aber die war Ende Mai auch schon für heute, den 6.6. ausgerechnet.
Jeder neue Rechengang hat dann wohl etwas von unserem Optimismus in den Algorithmus aufgenommen und die Lücke praktisch täglich weiter in die Ferne verschoben. So mögen wir’s!
Wenn nun auch noch der Blick ans Ende der Möglichkeiten (das sind 284 Stunden) die optimistische Tendenz beibehält, können wir allen nur gratulieren, die der Insel noch vor dem großen Ansturm einen Besuch abstatten. Anschließend sind ja alle unsere Kite-Schränke bereits reserviert. Und sicher wird es zum Ende des Monats auch wieder mit gängigen Boards Engpässe geben.
